Mark I did not know there was a problem with the roof profiles. my son has 5302 from an earlier run, and 5308 from a more recent run. I will have to check them out.

Hello T1nut,

Here are two links to discussions about the roof contour issue with the Stewart and early Bowser Alco Century cabs.

Bowser C630M See page two for model/prototype photo overlay

Bowser C430 Issue discussed about half way down first page of topic

It’s one of those “knit picky” things that isn’t too noticeable unless you have the correct and incorrect cabs side-by-side. The roof is correct on the C430 and I recall reading that Lee (of Bowser) said the latest run of C630s, 628s and 636s would all have correct cab roof contours. However, I have yet to hear anything about Bowser offering replacements for older “incorrect” cabs. (Don’t get me wrong, Bowser is a great company, but they seem very busy putting out new products right now and supplying replacement cabs may be a low priority if they’re considering it at all.) Since the prices on these locomotives are dropping, I’m ready to buy, but I just don’t want one with the older cab.
