Okay guys, this build continues, but technical difficulties are holding up the photos. We'll try for photos tomorrow, but in the meantime, this build is based on the Athearn RS-3, as it is the most flexible starting point. The pilots need work, which I'll detail in the first photos I post. Keep in mind that the REading bought RS-3's in 5 or 6 different groups. More on that later, I'm building #504, from the first order built in April 1951.

Here is a very large scale (1 ½” maybe) RS3 model that I photographed at one of the WWII weekends held at the Reading airport. An odd place to find model trains, but I wasn’t complaining. Does anyone have more information about this model?

the RS-3 is actually 1" scale a friend of mine owns a sister unit to it. I believe there are 3 of them that exist.

A fellow member of the RSME has a 1 inch scale RS-3 #448. Has a sound unit. Its pretty awesome
