I'm an American Flyer S gauge guy but I've been looking at ways to add a little Reading feel to my small layout. To start off I printed the Famous Reading Anthracite logos on 110lb paper and attached stick-on magnets to the back.

I realize this may not be prototypical, but I think some small stuff will help to set a theme.

Does anyone have any suggestions for small details I can add?

Trains were toys back then, so you gotta do what you can to add realism. that looks great though.

Brady,

Welcome to the board. I wanted to write in your other thread that I liked your cardstock buildings. You did a nice job with them.

Your "Famous Reading Anthracite" logo turned out well.

One distinctive Reading item I can think of right now is banjo (Hall) signals:

Others may chime in with other suggestions.

HI Brady - yes, welcome to the Reading Modeler!
Some good suggestions have already been made to you. A couple I would add are-
** if you have more than one town on your layout,m name each for a town the Reading serviced, place name signs on the facia of your layout.
** Your rolling stock should be 70% Reading. The other 30% can be anything including western railroads, but try to include a good dose of eastern railroads.
** your engine/loco fleet should be 90% Reading and guest or run-through locomotives are always welcome.
** scenery should include some mountains and depending on your layouts "season" lot sof trees! That certainly "speaks" PA and Reading country!

Good Luck and please show us more of your layout and models!
Thanks,
Barry

Your vintage stuff looks neat. And the towers look operable, judging from all the coal scattered about. You asked about small complimentary details. My suggestion is to do some small cream and brown lineside structures like crossing shanties, MOW sheds, outhouses, etc.
Since you're into cardstock construction , these will be easy "Reading" additions for you.
