This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

I came home today to see my print went very well. It is still always questionable as to what you are going to get. Under the gray goop is a bumper crop of new longer roof vents. I just changed the orientation a bit and lit off a new print due to finish at 7:30.

Does anyone else here do 3D printing?

Hey Bill,

Too cool, you have really taken modeling to the next level. I want to remind you to keep me on the list for vents...

Thanks,

Tom & All

It comes down to this. I am in S Scale by choice. I truly embrace the continual challenge of it all. A constant stream of " I wish we had" and "Someone should make" dreaming posts on the Yahoo S list for years annoyed me to no end to the point I never wanted to think that again for my needs. MY wants were SO specialized I new I was the only one anywhere that wanted most of my needed parts. I would not live long enough to wait for someone else to make them because it was just not going to happen. I have "magic parts boxes" like no where else in the world.

I literally took matters into my own hands and tried to be as self sufficient as possible. The 3D printing may seem extreme to some but to me it is just me modeling. Oh what FUN it is! On Sunday afternoon I decided I wanted the vents. Last night I designed and test printed. Today and tonight I printed "production" parts. The rush of it all is as good as it sounds!
