What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

I posted earlier in another topic, Bill W picked on the mention of said boxcar, so here it is. For many years I worked for LC&N (Old Company's Lehigh)and never really cared about all of the boxcars floating around the maintenance shops for storage, let alone photographing them. I should be ashamed!!! Anyhow fast forward five years, at the RPM in Scotch Plains I got chatting with Ted Culotta over freight cars and the Reading XMa comes up. He told me of Yarmouth's upcoming 3D printing project. So, I ended up weeks later going to Lehigh Anthracite to work on one of their hydraulic shovels and took the opportunity to grabs some shots. To the best of my knowledge no one has documented this model being here??? And a pic of those big digging machines!
