rdgraildog OFFLINE Fireman Posts: 59 Thank you received: 2	The tri-mount trucks were Alco's biggest downfall. My grandfather used to complain about them. They were constantly in the shop for wheel work. The two front axles were too close together and also no good on bad track. Lehigh Valley had this problem with their C- 628's. Competition from EMD and G.E. lead to Alco's demise.Todd Shoffler
