With the frigid weather taking over, spent the afternoon assembling a CB&T and a Branchline boxcar in RDG RR Roman lettering. Also, glued the roof/end/floor assemblies of several Ambroid RDG wood reefers. An enjoyable time after a long absence from the railroad room. Sunday afternoon will be spent sealing the reefer exterior pieces, and marking up and installing the floor for the twenty-seven stall Reading, PA roundhouse.

Well I installed my first hand built turnout. This is S scale.
There are commercial turnouts in S, which are code 100, and look really nice.
However, I purchased my clubs early modular layout which they no longer needed. The rails are a mixture of code 131 & 148. So I had to assemble my own from a kit by BK Enterprise.
What you see took a week of evenings. Cutting in, roadbed, ties, converting the turnout to DCC compatible.

Hopefully the next 13 will take less time.

Handlaid a code70 HO #4 switch on the Delaware River Extension, fixed a frog that had been crosswired, found the spot where I ran feeders from a track to the wrong buss wires, added grass flock to a couple feet of scenery, and started the process to rebuild the end of the peninsula to build the helix from Montchanin down to the Kentmere/Rockland Branch. Long weekends are great.

I added some auxiliary buildings to Stover's milling: the boiler house is a simple scratch built front, the stack and lumber rack are from Bar Mills, and the coal shed is from GC Laser.
