This is Quakertown & Eastern #51. The Q&E was a shortline that connected with the Reading at (where else?) Quakertown on the North Penn and ran to Riegelsville on the Delaware. Originally planned to connect with the L&HR at Easton, it served the Durham Iron Works until that closed in 1906. Known variously as the Quakertown and Eastern, Quakertown and Delaware River, and Quakertown and Bethlehem, the railroad never amounted to much and finally closed in 1936. They ran everything from a home-built gas car, to gasoline powered former traction cars, to 0-4-0 saddle tankers, to leased RDG engines. I always thought it would be a cool modeling project. Randy Kulp's NRHS book, "Railroads of the Lehigh River Valley" is the best (and only) resource I've found.

This is cool too -- an excursion at St. Peter's on the W&N French Creek Branch.
