While Googling USRA Hoppers, stumbled across this photo. Anyone for a ride in this train's caboose? www.google.com/search?q=usra+55+ton+pane...imgrc=84EAi_-vOj83mM:

This is a nice Christmas present for the Reading Modelers. Just find me a good respirator for the caboose ride!

Ditto. But where is that caboose? Was so engrossed over two of the Reading's leviathans on the rear that I did not notice the absence of a hack. There is nothing behind those two "push ups". Doubling the hill? If so, one heck of a train that would require that much power for part of it. Merry Christmas!

If we are looking at the same photo, the caboose is in between the two Mallets. Are you looking for one to be behind the hopper too? If the one in between the Mallets is the train's caboose, why would they have moved it between the pushers? Would it be a safety thing, not to smash the caboose, then why not behind the two pushers? Did they slip the caboose behind the first Mallet and then realize they needed more power (grunt grunt) and add another Mallet after the push started?

Inquiring minds....

Talk about being fix-minded. If is isn't ahead of or behind the pushers it isn't there. LOL! Wonder if it would get comments if done on the layout? Thanks Rob.
