I've started leaning a little more towards scale, replacing many Plasticville buildings with some of the cardstock structures from Clever Models. Cardstock is an old medium, but with the internet and graphics programs like Photoshop it seems to have new life..

These were all printed on 65lb stock using an inkjet printer. I'm not the sort who can kitbash or paint models, but I can get by with cardstock (it's pretty forgiving)..

The kits come as a PDF, so you can print as many as you want, and if you mess up a part you can always re-print it. The Company House kit comes with several siding types/colors so you can make an entire neighborhood pretty cheaply, just takes a little time. The distressed parts are part of the kit. The kits also have extra parts so you can do recessed doors and windows to get a 3-D effect.

My wife picked up a pack of 110lb cardstock so I'll probably print all future kits on the heavier stock.

Convincing models, at least in photos. I could see using cardstock for background structures on my someday layout. Thanks for the pictures.--Dave

definitely has a lot of potential-has got to save some money working in the larger scales, too... keep us posted!
