While not strictly a Reading build, I am building an anthracite breaker for Penn Lake version 8.

Like many later breakers, mine will be loads in (mine run coal) and loads out (processed, sized coal). The base for the project is Walthers New River Mining kit.

Impressive structure, it looks like two of the New River kits stacked upon each other in order to obtain the mass of the building. Please provide some details to the construction of your model. Sound modules are produced for sawmill models, is there a coal breaker sound module availible? Having such a large model produce noise would REALLY be something to do!

It might be a while before it actually makes it to the layout...I haven't started said layout yet. :(

It is basically two Walthers New River Mining kits stacked on top of each other. Practice, however, proved much more involved then that.

I also rebuilt the supports for the loader, to match the breaker's new height as well as enclosing it. I haven't decided to add windows to the new walls or not.

Black lines mark a new joint I made and the green shaded sections indicate wall sections I cut up. Anything white is Evergreen styrene.
