This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

All I really need is the north wall, I want to build a false front for a diorama to display my RDG steam power.

The North Wall? That would be facing the roundhouse & turntable.... with the main roll up doors. I have (and probably so do a lot of people) photos of this whole area during the time the RCT&HS had free reign of the loco shops. (Still officially owned by the Reading Company even if it was surrounded by a sea of cr blue. (ahhh those were the days!)

I'll scan and post them tonight when I get home. (Tonight is round robin layout night in Morgantown, so it might be closer to 9PM - Yeah I know, that is pretty early for a layout work session isn't it? Oh well.)

It wouldn't be to hard to scale and layout the size and shape of things from the photos based on at least one assumed measurement such as a man door and go from there.

Wildly the track plan for the Reading yard and shops (minus the Outer Station) showed up on facebook last night. At one time someone sold a complete drawing from darn near Belt Line Junction to Walnut & 5th Street. It was either RCT&HS, RSME or Wiswesser. I still have mine. I think Rutherford and St. Clair were also available. (I have them all "somewhere")

The West wall parallels North 6th Street and the East wall parallels the yard and mainline (I guess that would be rather obvious - duh). That would be a neat diorama because one could build and sit engines on the little shop turntable that was at the end of the erecting bays.

Oh, I know there are plenty of photos, but I'd rather not devote a few hours to drawing it out if someone is sitting on a scan of a blueprint. :)
