TOPIC: New GHB RDG CRUSADER SET

I understand perfectly what you're saying, yet when I purchase something I expect it to work w/o having to make it do so. Especially for what the prices are today.

Do you recall the can length and diameter of the Mashima?
I might give this a try as I have some Sagami cans in a drawer somewhere.
Thanks for sharing!

Here are some dimension sizes for the transplant. The Mashima is 1.295 long, by .715 on the flat, and .870 for the height on the curved. It is very close to the Canon DN 22 / CN 22 motor sold on E-bay (listing no. 170942698481). As I mentioned before the shaft diameter is 2mm on the gear tower. As far as removal of metal in the frame, a fair amount was taken away to get the center line correct. In doing so a new thread must be drilled and tapped in the cab floor to the frame, an .080 shim will be needed between the two, the original screw underneath the motor has to be omitted. I also had to remove .300 from the underside of the boiler before the firebox, and alter the rear set of leaf springs so everything would fit nicely. The streamlining hid all of this sin nicely. The flywheel I had on had was 2mm bore by .613 in diameter, and .343 wide recessed for the coupler and dog-bone to the gear tower. Through this project, my safe assessment would be .700 (W) X 1.750 (L) maximum for any motor reconfiguration the rest is up to you. I wish my computer was a little newer so I could upload pictures, but such is life. I hope this information is of value and expect to see the Crusader running everywhere I go!!! Bill.

I'm with you too Rick! Its one thing to pay under $40.00 for a substandard engine and have to rework it. But at that price you would expect more.
I certainly do appreciate sharing the motor sizing & info LNE 401. It prevents us from screwing up ours by trial and error. Thanks!!
