Does anyone have any good tips for creating a wooten firebox for when modeling with Ho-scale?

Nick, Mr. Bill makes a good point for a scratchbuilding session as in Casey's pictures. Good old school talent. I like using the Bachmann I-10 boilers sanding them bare and going from there. A friend of mine did a nice LNE I-5 with this approach on an old Bowser chassis. Next, if you remember the Lee Town castings, the tooling is alive and well and parts are available. Lastly check out the series in Railroad Model Craftsman starting in September 2005 with the CNJ Mikado, I built this model just have to paint it, and can say first hand it turned out very nice. Hope this may be of value!

It also shows if you are building off an existing firebox which is basically the same technique I used to make my I-9.
