This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Since the web site crashed I finished some projects.
First up Atlas GP40-2 RDG 3671,the unit was stripped of its factory paint and repainted using SCII southern green,SCII rdg yellow and SCII grimy black for the trucks and fuel tank.MS decals and weathering added. The unit also received TCS wow sound along with a TDS mini speaker.

The roof number was applied correctly

Front and rear views notice how the yellow was applied to the top of the rear headlight...unique to this unit

Also added another C424.Unit started as undecorated then painted with SCII RDG g/y.My goal was to move the longhood railings to the top of the walkway and cut in the slots on the side sill as I did on my 5205/07 units but the end result looked terrible so I just left mounted as they come with the model.Detail parts were added to the body and trucks and the fuel tank was modified.Weathering added along with TCS wow and TDS mini.

Finished my rendition of a WM GP9 low nose in the circus paint scheme.Unit painted with SCII paints, detail parts added along with weathering. WOW sound and TDS mini speaker installed.I intended to add the 3d printed low nose and cab for the WM but after painting it just looked off so I used the Walthers cab and low nose...not prototypical but I like the result.

WHAT IF?? In one of Reading's new locomotive purchasing proposals they considered U 28 B locomotives since I had both P2K U 30 B locos in the demonstrator scheme I decided to strip them and give them a RDG Company flair.
First up RDG U30B 6200. Painted with SCII RDG g/y,MS decals, detail parts and weathering added,WOW sound with TDS mini.
