What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Yes. Kewl. I have that one as well. The photo was in an issue of Reading Railroad magazine. So many good memories of Belmont. When they started the Expressway, they tore down the houses at Belmont and my uncle and his family moved to East Falls. I had quite a few summer vacations there as well, but none can match the ones spent in the park at Belmont.
I recall once getting a ride on an engine hauling a drag up to the Falls. We set off our drag, grabbed another drag and headed back to Belmont. If only I had a camera back then.....oh the pictures I'd have. When we got back to Belmont we were informed that we'd picked up cars off of the wrong track at the Falls. They had to go back up there but alas, Uncle Ricky informed me that we had to go home.....what an absolute bummer THAT was.

If anyone is interested, I can scan my Belmont Drawing. WE have a wide format scanner (36-inch width) and I'd be happy to share.

That sounds like a good idea. Perhaps the resulting file could go among the "Downloads," if you are willing and there are no copyright issues. Tom could figure out a category; It is not quite "Operations Information."
