What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

The April 2016 (Vol. XXII, No. 2) Operations Special Interest Group's periodical The Dispatcher's Office has an interesting article by Jim Hetrzog on the Shamokin Div. colliery crews that worked out of Tamaqua to the St. Nicholas colliery.

Is there any way to get a copy of this if I would be living on the other side of the country?

I would highly recommend joining the OPSIG. Great articles in the magazine and also gets you access to a lot of great info about operations. I haven't joined yet (as anyone can tell from the lack of updates to the site I'm a bit of a procrastinator) but I have the good fortune to know several members and it's well worth the investment.
