What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

This was lost to the old forum, and my notes are not fully inclusive.

I want to get the info on which classes of passenger cars I want to build (all from scratch in N scale, of course), for passenger trains that utilized the mainline or sub-mainline rails through coal country. Specifically the M&S branch, between Tamaqua/Gordon/Shamokin and Locust Summit.

I will have an FP7 pair running the Schuylkill, but would also want to try to fit a GP7, RS-3 and toss in a G-3 to mix it up a bit.

My notes has the following:
Train 6 or Train 8, the Schuylkill/(King Coal?)---FP7 with 6 cars plus lounge

Train 114
Train 4
Train 2
Train 92
Train 10---RS-3 with 6 cars (1956)
Train 12
Train 98

This is approximately what I have so far. Most of my books are home, so I am unable to check all the pages for references and pictures.

In my 4/24/1955 ETT:
Westward: 97 (King Coal), 2097 (King Coal, Sundays only), 2019 (Sundays only)
Eastward 6 (King Coal), 2006 (King Coal - Sundays)2020 (Sundays only)
All ran from Tamaqua to Shamokin, 6, 2006, 2019 and 2097 ran via the Schuylkill Valley Brance from Tamaqua to Pottsville and then dow the Main Line.

In 1960, the Sunday Trains are not listed. I can check 1953 if you want.
