What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

I have some questions about the gon decals. I am about to send some sheets off to the printer, and I can't find the correct information showinging the proper text for the attached GHh, GHj and GHl gons. So far I have the following, but the photo shows about 5 lines of text, above the IL and Cu. Ft. I have deduced the following so far, so you have any idea what other lines go here? None of the other classes of GH have 5 lines that I can see. I thought it might be a lease agreement but they were paid in full 2 years after being purchased, and the lease agreement never appears in this spot:

DURYEA UNDERFRAME
IW WROT STL WHLS
SPRG 2 1/2 IN TRAV

Thanks a million!

GHn looks like it has a lease agreement. Does anyone know the terminology for these agreements, and are they standard for all Reading's equipment? i.e. would these cover boxcars, gons, hoppers, etc?
