What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Dad was visiting a friend who just had surgery for cancer, and happened to catch this unit running through Spring Grove, PA. Just outside York. His friend's son was there taking pictures of it all day, and he sent this picture to me. What an interesting string of events, and was even more shocking that the Reading unit is/was roaming around my hometown! Too bad I was not able to be there to see it in person.. Enjoy!

very nice, it looks like the unit has been spending a good amount of time in PA this month. last month and the month before it was almost always down south spending alot of time around NS headquarters in Roanoke I was beginning to think NS was hording her.

...just wondering when its going to get here to Reading, alot of us have here been waiting very patiently for this but it seems all we get is the PC unit

The RDG unit was through Reading back in mid October. It ran the Harrisburg line between Abrams and Harrisburg. Thats the only time I know it was east of Harrisburg.

WooHooo! After three months stuck in Bluefield WV "7601" (NS 1076) has finally broke free. Although it is still in the deep south, MAYBE it has a half a chance of getting back north again.
