What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Does anyone have a dining car menu that they can post a picture of the inside of...
reason I'm asking... and maybe some knows without posting a picture...

Did the reading have a "signature" dessert on their trains?

Am hosting an ops session tomorrow night and had this crazy thought that I could provide something special, if it's not too exclusive. If it was some sort of apple pie, then I can buy any apple pie and lay claim to it being a Rdg speciality! If it is some sort of specially made pastry... it may have to wait for the next session.
Awaiting all of your immense knowledge....!
Thanks,
Barry

Barry, an old issue of Flags, Diamonds and Statues had an article on the Crusader, which probably included a menu. I'll check tonight after work.

Funny you should mention this, I picked one up that was "included" in a few trinkets from an ebay auction. I was originally buying a book of matches, a folded-type diner car paper cup and some various paperwork. The menu was tossed in, as a pleasant surprise. However, all of that stuff is neatly packed away...

Check the Bee Line issue of the Crusader article. The one with the record in it from way back when. I know there is a menu and I think it has more than breakfast items.
