Microscale decals have the slogan "we couple carefully to keep business on the Reading" Does anyone know when this was used and where was it placed on the locomotive and on what locomotives? I assume it was on switchers but that is only a guess. I remember seeing it in a photo but I can't fine it anymore - Senior moment I guess!

Look beneath the cab on 2703. You're correct that it was applied to switchers. Along with 2703, it was painted on 1506 and 2706 that I have photos of. I wouldn't apply it to any locomotive without photo backup.

I did a quick search for that phrase and found a number of hits on the readingrr.com site.

Here are the links to the photos that are listed there

Please see these two photos of SW1200m #2714 - please note that the lettering is positioned differently on each side of the locomotive cab...

Again Steve Schwartz wrote a Bee Line article on this and has a pretty thorough list with photos. He indicated he could not be sure the list was all inclusive. Check your back issues.

According to Steve Schwartz's article in Bee Line V8 #4 ( I believe that was 1986) The following had the "Couple Safely" slogan, based "strictly" from photo evidence.

OE-9 #100, 104
OE-10 #27 & 31, 82,93 & 85
OE-11 #45
OE-12 #703,704, 705, 724, 726, 727 & 729
SWE-1 #2702, 2703, 2706, 2707, 2709, 2710, 2714.
SWE-4/14 1506 & 1507

I noted #42 as seen on cover of Bee Line V10 #2 and #714 as seen in Reading Diesels V1 page 78 (Woodland)

That'll keep ya decalin for a while............
