How many of you (who I didn't know yet!) were chasing or riding this excursion with the 5513 from Temple to Tamaqua on a rainy day in Oct 1986? There was also an excursion with the recently-restored CNJ 1554 from Jim Thorpe the same day-- here's pix of both...

If I recall correctly, the rain actually kept me from attending that event, it was a very damp and cool day. However, below is a copy of a page from Railfan and Railraod Magazine that shows “before” and “after” images of 5513.



Here is 5513 in the Reading shops some time in either 84 or 85 just prior to the cosmetic restoration. This photo was taken during one of the historical society’s open houses at the shops.

Thanks for the pix! Shame it was SOOO rainy...took a shot from the Rte 61 bridge at Port Clinton....hoping to recapture the "Rambles" feel.. dark pix! Wish I'd saved the slides though, but who would've dreamed of Photoshop and scanners back then???
