Happy new year to all!! From Vera Cruz Station, Perkiomen Branch Trainmaster. May all your trains keep the wheels on rails for the upcomming year. Things I miss from years past. In younger days 1989 at our East Penn Model Railroad Club in Emmaus, running a train with 89 cars three units on the lead two helpers pushing up 3-4% + grades hard curves till midnight cutting the helpers and running 90 cars for that new year! Crew members like Tom Lucky, Rod Miller Tim Measler, John France. Those were the days before digital HO running helpers with a second engineer on helpers running in a different electrical block and watching the coupler slack. Really running the grade. This is what the public didn't see at the open house. Again Happy Railroading 2015 to all!!!
