I finally got some time for my G1. There was some putty sanding of the boiler. This is possibly my best experience with Floquil ever. I generally don't prime at least brass models because I blast first. But this is mixed materials so I thought it was a must. I opened a new bottle and it went on well!

Further it was to see where more body work is needed. There is some more minor puttying and sanding on the boiler and tender deck, probably another primer coat, then the real paint.

Wow, that’s fantastic work! It would be nice to see this or the G3 offered in HO as maybe a hybrid model like BLI does with their Pennsy locomotives. I might regret saying this, but Bachmann could do justice to this class "if" they did it as a higher end model.

I agree, Mark. An HO scale G3 would be a dream come true!
