Hello Group,
Well this is more good news for the Colebrookdale Railroad; they finally own a locomotive.

Press Release: New locomotive

This, on top of the approval for the road closure in Boyertown, puts a lot of momentum into the operation. Still would like to see some Reading power run on this line again someday.

Thanks, Mark

That's really cool. They have quite the endeavor going out there. Does anyone know if they were able to move the Pennsy freight house from birdsboro to the branch?

I was just in Birdsboro about a week ago and it is still there. I don’t have any insight into the project, but would speculate that they have many other things on their “to-do” list ahead of this one. They just got that Pullman car back in December and I could see it and other equipment restoration taking priority over the station move. Of course, I’m just guessing on that as I’m not involved with the railroad or any of its volunteer efforts.

Thanks, Mark

Is it intentional that they are getting a former Pennsy locomotive? From everything I have read, there is very little mention that this was ever a branch of the Reading. It's quite odd.

Riggleweg asks a very interesting question. Are any of the Reading Modelers familiar with members of this group?

This article says the line “was financed by and completed under the supervision of the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad”.

Colebrookdale Railroad played an important part in the economic and social framework of the area, 03-01-15

I don’t know anybody from this group; just excited to see and report on what looks like a promising business/tourist rail venture.

Thanks, Mark
