Came home from the Philly area (on a day off) and picked up the mail - it was a red-letter day for the US Postal Service:

1. My Microscale Reading Boxcar decals arrived (so that I can scrutinize them and create a better boxcar red decal set)
2. My most recent eBay purchase of 3 Intermountain undecorated 10K gallon tank cars also arrived (decals for these were also in my package from Microscale
3. My FOS Scale Models "A Work of Art Under Wire" DVD, featuring Reading Modeler member Rick Abramson's New Haven Railroad layout (I'm betting we'll see at least one Reading car on the layout).

Initial reactions.
1. The Microscale boxcar decals appear to have data only for one class of boxcar, so this is a drawback for individuals who want to accurately depict a broad base of boxcar classes.
2. I was surprised to see that the Intermountan cars did not come with weights, but they look to be fairly well detailed and relatively straightforward to assemble.
3. DVD is going into the computer now for the afternoon's entertainment. Will provide feedback after I've finished watching it!

What a great way to spend a Thursday afternoon!

New Haven DVD Update - 12 minutes in - 2 Reading boxcars are picked up by an NH S2, and shifted while NH electrics with commuter trains speed by on the elevated electrified line in the background. Awesome...
