What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Why does the Reading have to be so damn unique...?

Does anyone have any engineer's drawings or blue prints, measurements, etc of either of these pieces? I am trying to get them manufactured in N scale, but need something to base the CAD Drawings off of.

The CRECO door (10 foot x 8 foot version) is exactly the same as the 6-panel doors minus 3 panels, but when I chiseled the extra ribs off, the resin picked up every single scratch i couldn't sand off (very difficult in N scale).

I have exhausted all of my known sources and now I turn to the Reading Experts :)

There are a pair of prototype Creco doors on an X-Reading boxcar (I want to say it's an XAd) - 40' double door car off it's trucks, behind Kuzan's Hardware in Shoemakersville. Drove by yesterday and remarked to myself that I should measure them one of these days...

The next time I'm up that way I'll get photos and measurements to send to Korea. BTW, keep your eyes open for those damn North Koreans.
