What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

TOPIC: Gordon engine facilities layout?

Gordon engine facilities layout? 9 years 6 months ago #3548

Guys, as a new participant to the Reading Modeler site, I can't tell if that 1958 Model Railroader article ever got circulated, but, in case not, here it is.

Inspired by Jim Herzog's excellent layout, I had designed an 18' x 20' HO layout last Winter focusing on the Gordon - Locust Summit - Shamokin portion of the M&S (while I was away from home in AZ) but found upon return home, the design was too big for the area in the basement available (15' x 16'). So, when time allows this Winter, I will take another shot at layout design but, this time, focusing on Gordon - Locust Summit.

John
I tried uploading the three pages from MR as PDF. files and failed twice, as it appears you also did. Not sure what file type you tried, but my thought was the system doesn't like PDF's and I gave up. I did send out two scans as emails to people, however didn't get a response that they were received, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, Rob, that looks like what happened to me as well.

Tom, is there something Rob and I are doing incorrectly. Alternatively, can I send you the MR article so you can post it on this thread?
Thanks, John

I see some decent views in those pics, and even that old TMd tank car! Thanks for the help!
