I recently purchased Ed Wiswesser's excellent book entitled Steam Locomotives of the Reading and P&R Railroads. I'm sure many or most of you are aware of this book.

My copy did not include the 30 drawings indicated in the book as being included in an envelope. So, I gave Ed a call. He’s still the same guy I knew back in the late 90s when I was a member of the Reading Society of Model Engineers. (I need to rejoin.) Very friendly and full of stories. He said that he still had copies of the book drawings that he could sell me.

I went to his house this weekend and picked them up. I'm not sure how many of these 30 drawings he has left. If I understood him correctly, he received one hundred or a few hundred of these drawings from the printer when his book published. I think the set he sold me came from this original lot. At some point, he might have to start selling copies.

I know Ed is getting up there in age. He's 95, and I don't know how long he'll keep at it with selling the drawings. I know a number of you have asked where to find drawings from time to time. So, during my visit with Ed, I asked him if I could post a scan of his complete list of drawings with prices on this website so that others could see what he sells. He said, “Sure!,” with his characteristic enthusiasm.

If anyone would like this list as JPEGs or TIFFs, please PM me, and I’ll email you a copy. As you can see, he has a lot of drawings of Reading locomotives (steam and diesel) and cars as well as PRR and a few others, and they are very reasonably priced. He prints the large drawings on a Diazit machine in his basement and the smaller ones at the local copy center. They do differ from the drawings in the book, as they are blueprints.

Ed also does ship drawings. I haven't purchased any of those, but I’ll tell you that what I saw in his basement was impressive. He had a 6-foot ship drawing that he had prepared on the Diazit machine to mail out.

are we ordering through him directly over the phone? I'd like several drawings, ordering them from Korea might be a little difficult.

Also, he has a LOT of drawings that I would like. would he be swamped if i ordered them all at once, or will someone be able to assist him, or....? Basically what would the best way to go about ordering about 40-50 of those drawings, from korea without a phone...

Turbo - get your list together and figure out your total cost for prints. You can send that to a volunteer via email or PM, send that volunteer a check for the amount and he could get the prints for you. The volunteer would ship them to you (need address) and then you can send another check to reimburse for the shipping.

Being in Michigan, I don't think I could be much help. How about someone stepping up for a fellow RDG Modeler?
