I will be contacting Athearn, hope its not too late,to inform them about the application of the RDG diamond on the cab flanks.According to their art work the only unit they have right is the 623.The left and right tips of the diamond are even with the bottom of the cab. They show this application on the remaining 3 units, but this is incorrect. On units 619 &633 the green color is extended above where the bottom of the cab meets the walkway and the end tips of the diamond are therefore higher.I believe 636 falls into this application as well, although I don't have picture evidence.Any thoughts

Chris - by all means have at it - we want things to be correct!
With the "reborn" RDG Modeler, we lost the old forum items, sadly, and there was an item on these loco's. I just don't remember if it was John Caples that was in contact with Atheran already on this and many other correctable items.

I was looking forward to maybe a purchase of these, but if I remember, they are all the green-yellow scheme. While that would be more than appropriate for my era, I like having those locos in the original all olive green scheme. Maybe they'll come out with some of those too. (you are free to suggest that too!)
Thanks,
Barry

Contacted Athearn today.Waiting on a response.Concerning 636 video footage shows that the green and yellow color seperation line is above the bottom of the cab as is 619/33.Basically,its the same application as on the 2nd generation unit paint scheme.

My 623 and 636 has arrived today from Athearn. The only thing that I see questionable is the color of the "safety always" slogan. They printed it in white. I believe it was yellow. But the good news is that by 1975. These units were weathered heavily and I can tone down the white and no one will probably ever notice.

The units run very smoothly together. Look very good! I'm quite pleased for a factory paint job. Athearn has come a long way from their prior offerings!

I now have ordered the other 2 units. The 619 and 633.

Anyone else have comments to share on their thoughts of accuracy? Did anyone else receive theirs?
