WOW... had a banner day of emails with 4 new event sponsors!!

Please welcome KATO, BACHMANN, WALTHERS, EXACTRAIL and Lionel is still considering!

Kato is donating an N scale Heritage loco, which will probably become our Grand Prize!

The flyer is just about ready to go to the printer and will next week. Registration opens on May 1 and the website will be updated just before that.

Are you going?
Thanks,
Barry

Barry,

Excuse my dumbness please, however to clarify this in my head....

If you attend with "a" model "to" display it is $20.00 (Wall Street), however just showing up to look at models is $30.00 (Crusader). So the incentive is to bring something to display - Correct?

I guess I am thinking car show where you get in to "look see" for free, but have to register your car for the judging and prizes. Not insinuating this should be free, because it shouldn't be free..... I just want to make sure I am understanding it correctly.....
(and trying to figure out what model to bring with me....lol)

Rob

Yes Rob... you have it correct. While your analogy is somewhat correct... at car shows it's usually not free for anyone. However (we degress here...) at my Camaro show, because we have major sponsors and are charity driven, basic car entry is free with no judging. Judging is extra and spectators get in for a donation (any amount) to our chosen charity.

I wanted to do something similar with this event - get companies to sponsor it and cover costs. However, that is somewhat breaking new ground in this hobby and we got no takers.

Thus... the lower cost IS an incentive to bring models!! If we charged the same price for everyone and everyone figured the "other guy" would bring something in... we run the risk of having NO models!! Yikes! That would not be a good event. So, let's give those that contribute to the event a break!

Thanks for asking... perhaps others had the same questions.

And BTW - these are the SAME prices from last year - no increase. Our event costs should be the same or very close, so there was no reason for an increase. Hopefully, can keep that pricing for many more years too! Plus... it's a pretty fair price for what we offer, I believe.

Thanks again!
Thanks,
Barry

JULY 2014
Hello again and it’s time for a quick update! I know it’s been awhile since our website launch and registration opening and I’ve been a bit busy with another event I am chairman of... But that event is done and it’s now time to get going 2000% on the MEET-II!!

Speaking of registrations... Have you registered yet? We have a few in and hopefully many more and I’ll admit that I’m sending mine in, right now. It would be great if we could increase our attendance this year. Please, if you attended last year and had a great time, pass the word on to your fellow Reading Modelers! In the hopes of getting more participants, I’ll be attending the NMRA National Train Show in Cleveland in mid-July and I’ll be taking a pile of flyers to set-out!

We are still looking for 2 more clinics to fill out the schedule. As mentioned below, please contact me soon!

Door Prizes are starting to arrive! A huge THANKS to all of our event sponsors and a bigger shout-out to KATO, who has donated our Grand Prize, a N scale Reading Heritage locomotive! And it is still not too late to become a sponsor! All we ask is a donation or two, to give away at the event! Please email me if you and your company are interested.

We should be able to get you more news updates from now until the event, which is only 2.5 months away! It will be here before you know it!! Please keep checking here for more and the latest news! Thanks!
Barry Hensel, Chairman

and I'll degress a bit again... only since many of you know of my "other" hobby - Camaro. Our 23rd event is done and I'm 1000% on the RRRMM-II now. Our event went VERY well... 495 cars in attendance from 10 states and Canada. ALL Camaros!! Our charity drive foir MS went extra well, the goal of $6000 was blown away and we'll be donating $9000 or more!
Thanks,
Barry
