Quick question: I'll be adding a back wall to the cab, and painting the interior green (probably using Penn Central green with some white mixed in? Open to suggestions on that) but the part I couldn't figure out: The underside of the cab awning (outside the back wall): Is that painted green also, or just black?

I'd leave it black, I don't remember seeing any other colors even in gaughtally painted tourist engines. Some variations I have seen too is just a black roof the whole thing and the side panels green. Keep in mind too cab interiors though they were painted, in service got battered chipped worn and really really dirty. But that would be a matter of taste in a model.

Well I'm delivering an un-weathered model, so grime isn't my concern, at least this time. :)

How about the roof inside the cab? Generally painted green, or black?

I know the 1251 had the whole cab interior painted green, including the roof, when the RCT&HS cosmetically restored her at RRMoP.

I have seen them black, all green, green sides black roof and some are just flat out all over the place in color. For something that is going to be rather hard to see, all green or with black roof are both tasteful options. Basically its up to what you think looks good.
