I just haven't found something I like yet ;)

The Bachmann 2-10-2 is a little small, small drivers and boiler in an easy version. To make a new boiler you would have to build all the weight back up and changing out the common southern valve gear for the model would take some thought.

Now that I have K-1s & N-1's on my mind while at work thats all I could think of! Even work parts started to look good.

an old fill valve part from a Kohler toilet.
Measures a scale 9' in HO across. Its very close to a center section. anyway got me thinking! :)

It's good to see shots of your layout, Dan. I hope we see more. It would be good to hear more about your kitbashes too (I spy a 4-6-0 in the background).

That piece of pipe is from the back of the toilet, right? ;)

Yes, the clean water end. Inside the tank. Its ABS plastic, just like most models.
The camelback is a kitbash in progress. I posted this picture of the camelback on the old forum.

I shortened the boiler at each section, according to bluprints, I have to change & add details. Its an old Mantua like the one shown above.

Here is my current project. Its not quite reading but a railroad they had dealings with and its a camel back so building techniques apply. The project took form to use up some parts of mantua camel backs where I used really just the shell. This frame was one I picked up for $30 at a show already repowered and came with a couple headlights. The shell and headlights were used on a spectrum I-8.

I figured I wouldn't let the parts go to waist so I did some searching to find something to fit what I had that I liked, and I wanted to try some new scratch building techniques so really most of what you see is scratch. To have a little fun lets see if anyone can guess the road its from.

-hints- Camelback, tender trucks are correct, cab will be in between the domes.

Is it the oddball one the PRR placed 3 of on the Long Island, turn of the century?? Seems in brass in the 60's ther was one in HO, and the cab was between the domes.. just a guess...they had an odd 6-wheel pedestal arrangement on the tender originally, like some European tenders...
