Trying for my last test print almost happened late today. Again this is at draft speed but it was still 5 hours. Not well seen here, but it is full of rivets. Trying to make it ‘purty’ the support ribs hit on the wheels so some will be deleted in the next version. I have some tweaking of the coupler pocket as well.

I emailed my brass caster to see if he can cast it as a 1 big chunk! It would be big and heavy, just like a tender floor should be.

The U shape is a combination stiffener and support contact point. The cab end is the first to print and sometimes suffers in replication so I made this big bar as the first place for the supports to hit, getting that end first, higher and out of the goop. I have already cut the waste area off leaving 2 stiffener strips.

Hoping for 1 more round of tweaks and final print next time, in gray and possibly burnout material.

This is just about the biggest single item I can print. It just fits with the support base.
