Getting ready to start laying track for new layout - 1960's era.
I need colors for F7's - look black in some pictures but could be faded Pullman green. Also GP-7's - Pullman green?
Thanks for your help, greatly appreciated! :)

Basically,
Covered Wagons are black, anything F as in FT, F-3, F-7, FP-7 or FA.

Everything else prior to the GP-30's in 1962 was originally Pullman green. Second generation paint during the 60's was green & yellow.

Templin... I had the same question many years ago and actually painted an F unit shell a light green (didn't even know it was Pullman green at that time!). All I had for reference was the Tyco GP20 in yellow/green and some black/white F unit pictures. I figured that if the diesels were yellow/green, perhaps it had evolved from a soild green on previous models, that showed one color in pictures. Oh well...! It's great to ask questions and learn. That is what this forum is all about and the Reading RR Modelers Meet III too!
Thanks,
Barry
