Hello Gents,
I recently acquired a second proto 2000 RDG S1 while I was at the Allentown train meet. I am working on getting in a DCC decoder, but I would like to put in a sound decoder if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on what decoder would work in this model? On my first one I had managed to get an MRC decoder in it (because that's what I could afford at the time and it eventually burnt out). I refuse to use MRC haha! Is there an ESU or Tsunami decoder that fits?

Thanks,
Nick

YOU should follow Ron Giordani's follow the build. If he hasn't gotten to the decoder yet, he will shortly.

ESU LOK Sound and Sountraxx offer small decoders at reasonable prices, both have very good reliability and durability records. ESU LOK Micro decoders with a total output of one amp. have been install in two WKW's latest run of SW1 diesel; those models have been performing flawlessly on a club layout. One of our round robin group bought tiny speakers on eBay that were made for portable phones. The sound quality is very good, and the price (Bought on eBay at $1.87 each.) is right.
