This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

Here are a few photos of a breaker I plan on putting on my Philly & Scranton layout. Its loosely based on the St. Nicholas breaker. I started the building about 1988, with cardboard and drawn on windows and doors. I added the Grant Line windows, + the roll up door about 2005 or so. When I started, the Walther's New River Mine wasn't out yet. Stairways also yet to be added.

Like the breaker there otiscnj! I live about 15 miles from the original St. Nick and there has been a lot of clearing of brush and removal of overburden at the site the last few months. It would be an excellent time to get more photos for research. Don't forget to include a Dorr Thickner for the fines, every breaker I see modeled never has one. Keep up the good work!

I had a live steam shay visit my RR this past weekend. It ran like a watch. Later in the day I fired up one of my live steamers and we had a lot of fun double heading.

Also of possible interest to some folks here, I model a lot of RBMN/BM&R equipment. I'm working on a second #425 right now.

I've been working on my own Reading-style tender trucks, too:

I the G Scale community, I think I am pretty well known for my CR OCS train that is highly customized, if not entirely scratch built:

My CR OCS theater car is entirely scratch built:

It has a full interior including scratch built sinks, a kitchen, a toilet, working lights inside and out, and even a china cabinet.

I also have NH&I #40 romping around my RR:

I love to do night photography, including this K-4:

And I have a custom-painted RDG heritage unit, but I know it is a painted Dash-9. You have to remember that in G, we have a VERY limited selection of models so a lot of compromises have to be made:

Here's more of the Conrail OCS. Again, remember that the theater car is entirely built from scratch.
