What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

Does anyone have any references to the placement of the letters on XMs boxcars? All the pictures I can find of them in my books show angles that are too difficult to accurately see the far sides and I can't piece them together. If anyone has a proto or accurately lettered model, Can you post it? I've got three I'm trying to decal now. Thanks!

Take a look at the Westerfield website, kit #3310. This should be more than enough to get you started!
