What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

OK I recall the ramble T-1’s had an extra pair of yellow marker lights center mounted on the rear of the tender on the back of the slope sheet.

Was that a late era addition or standard RDG practice at any time or on any locomotives?

Two Bert Pennypacker publications, Reading Steam Pictorial, and Reading Power Pictorial, show the two marker lights on the T1 tenders. They are not a bright color in the b&w photos. The photos are 1955-1956.

Other tender photos of other class engines do not show the lanterns, at least in these two books.

Hope this helps.
