TOPIC: TRAINS Magazine May Map

You win some, you lose some...

TRAINS Magazine features the Reading "It's pronounced "Redding'" in its monthly map feature.

It is a very detailed map.

However, I caught a transposition of labels in Inset 3 showing track detail around Reading. They printed the Temple Hill track in a dotted style to indicate construction later than the 1933 period of the map and called it the "Blandon Cutoff." The actual Blandon Cutoff is printed as a solid line showing it was in place in 1933. They do mention that the Blandon Cutoff was "not constructed until 1955."

As a Midwesterner, I am hardly qualified to bring this to their attention. Maybe John Caples could drop them a line...
