This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

I figured I would start a kitbashing thread, here is what I have been up to. The G-3 is done, I have the progress shots with it some posted on the last site.

The current project is the manuta 0-6-0 camelback done right. It started as a stock model power mantua classic engine so it runs well and fairly quiet. I thought it was an easy project, reusing a lot of old shell parts, only taking about a week and a half to do. It will probably stay unpainted for a little while though since I have run out of decals for the time being. I took lots of pictures (with the quality making me think I really need a new camera) with thoughts of a how to article for the site but but thought Tom might have work on his hands with the new site.

My last project was to build an E5sa out of a Lionel USRA 0-8-0:

My current project is turning a Lionel "Dockside" 0-6-0 into a passable B4A #1251.

After this I have plans to build an I9sa and an I10sa.
