I got these for Christmas and I must say they are not too bad.
Both run smooth and slow. The v start will need to be lowered.
Paint and painted details are done well. The Sountraxx Decoder is their economy version but for Reading Geeps what more do you need?

The Reading GP7 is road number 623 and it has the properly painted long hood. That is it was painted halfway up with green. The joints between green and yellow are good not pristine but quite acceptable. The pilot should be black below the stripes and above the foot boards.
More lettering on cab such as class and HP, also the F1 and 2 on the frame will improve these. No ladders or steps are included so these will have to be added. at 160.00 each they are a good buy.
The frame slots are painted on and should not be there anyway.

The CNJ 1523 obviously lacks the lighting cabinet. The stripes are excellent. I think they should begin to slope before going down around the hood ends but still they look good. Lettering is interesting. The PSD37 needs to be replaced with FPSD37 and the CMJ under cab number needs to be eliminated or redone CNJ. I will be placing a plastic plate over road number with cab number as was done on the prototype and will probably leave off the CNJ. Lighting cabinet will be fabricated or I will use the brass ones from Custom Finishing???
CNJ units had the slots in lower frame but are not applied to these.

All in all pretty good models and above average sound and performance. I generally like to support the companies who do Reading and CNJ items as long as they are very good.

Hope this is helpful.
