maybe i just cant get over how brutely the traditional steamers on the Reading look. The I10, M1, N1, and K1s are too beautiful to put a stainless mask over.

The "Steamliners" and Streamliners of the 30s were certainly unique. The railroads introduced the M-10000, Pioneer Zephyr, etc. to help shift people from the doldrums of the Depression to these shining hopes for the future. Apparently it worked; ridership on the rails increased and these trains were highly successful. While some steam engines did resemble inverted bathtubs, they achieved the results desired in attracting ridership.
Unfortunately, the same theory did not work in the mid-50s. The GM Aerotrain and the lightweights on the New Haven were flops. Of course in the 30s, there was no interstate highway system.

Not to detrail the thread, but I've always been partial to the NYC streamlined Hudsons.

The amount of streamlining is understated.

The Pennsy's T-1s also had a distinctive look.

Am I going to get banned?

with all the problems with the engine, I might just get a set of the cars and use my FP-7's to pull it.

I did get a replacement engine from GHB. It was OK; now its emitting "squeeling" sounds from the gearbox. It really is a shame; its a beautiful model.
The FP7s for power may be the ticket.

The PRR T1s, especially the 2 prototypes - 6110 and 6111 in my opinion were the best looking of all the T1s. Too bad the T1s proved to be a big disappointment.
My vote is that you not be "banned." On the NH forum, if the letters "PC" are mentioned, that individual gets a free ticket to the 5th planet of the Hoth System!!
Despite what Robert Reed said in his book, The Streamline Era about the RDG Crusader Pacifics; for streamlined steam, I think they looked good.
