This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

I just looked at Micro-Scale web-site, with the boxcar set, you can do 4 cars. 1 banner car,1 large"rdg"car,1 speed lettering in yellow & green with hollow diamond. 1 speed lettering for a boxcar red car.they are advertised for 40 & 50 ft cars.

I ordered a set of the new Microscale decals today - when they arrive I'll provide review/commentary. Quite frankly, I've been so busy working on the website migration that I haven't had much time to work on decals. I'm a little curious as to where they got their data.

Let me know as well. I'd like to see if there is anything missing from the sets I designed and printed out for mine...1940s and 1950s style....

If I were to buy those decal sheets, i'd waste money on half the sheet unless i sold the unused half to someone else...not very efficient. Microscale should have done separate sheets for the different eras...trying to save money at the cost of the modeler it seems...

No decal manufacturer out there today can top what is offered by The Reading Modeler through Tom's efforts.
If your modeling the RDG in the 70's then IMHO microscale hit at least a triple with their RDG box car release. One decal sheet for four cars at 7.oo is a bargain when compared to Highball Graphics RDG offering's.Their price is also 7.oo,but you can only do one car.

What shade of yellow? Herald King orange/yellow or a more yellow shade?

Tom I too will continue to buy your decals. I have not seen the new microscale decal set, but past experience still leaves me with several sets of decals with pale yellow diamonds before they revised the shade. Keep up the good work Tom!
