This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

This is my work in progress tender base for my G1 - also in progress. The base photos are screen shots from Solidworks.

Ole A C would be rolling over in his grave if he knew a 3D printed base was going under 1 of his plastic tender shells 60 years later!

I am hoping to make this the last print. The 1 in the photo 2306 was short lived - just to check coupler height.

No rivet counters here! ;) Just trying to make a presentable model. It seems the AF tender shell is in between the lengths of the tenders that were used on the G1. Longer than the early tender and too short for the later tender.

I was hoping to get the design done today so I could print it tonight. It is likely to be a 6-8 hour print.

But I decided to chop us a bunch of boxes in the basement that was a mess under the layout, that equated to 5 trash cans full and 3+ hours. As I sit here at almost 8:00 I am wondering where my Saturday went!

Tomorrow is another day. I will report when there is something new/worthwhile to see.

Bill
