I did not want to try and sprinkle coal on top of the fake plastic American Flyer coal pile – since I use real coal. It would be too full and not look “natural”. I like variety and showing some coal has been consumed at the tender front so I cut it out and made a new coal bunker. Designing it took about 15 minutes, printing was 90 minutes but no effort on my part, and rough fitting was 5 minutes. Final finishing and gluing in will take a little longer. But, I am absolutely sure I could have not cut styrene sheets to fit, glued them together and installed with this ease. The new coal bunker might be liquid tight when I am done too!

Also note the water deflector on the deck that is pretty accurate in size. It even has the correct number of rivets!
