Some shots from tonight with all 4 of my Reading steam locos lit up and posing. You can tell the LED headlights and the bulb for sure. I am moving to all LEDS for headlight if I can get them to fit.

REALLY impressive, Bill. The equipment is beautiful! Are your passenger car scratch built? Suddenly I feel like such a piker modeling in HO scale. It would be fun to learn the origins of your engines too. Please post more pictures!

Robin

Most of the passenger cars are purchased as is, from a time when men were men, and in S Scale you BUILT things. Frank Titman was the most prolific S Scale rolling stock builder that was also a Reading freak. Built 100s of items. I have bought many of them in the past 3ish years. Frank passed many a year ago. Some cars were built by John Hall.

The Camelback is Overland brass. The rest started with the cab and firebox of an American Flyer loco and the rest was finished out in various ways but mostly with S Scale Loco & Supply S Scale Loco & Supply parts and drive. It was 10% American Flyer, 90% SSLS. Frank built 30+ locos that way, and offered a kit. That is what my I-10 is, but I bought that done too.

The G1-sb was built by my friend that owns SSLS now. But he started with an American Models pacific. The AM loco is unique in that the side rods are truly ornamental. All axles are gear to each other. It was FUN getting the gears to mesh after I took it apart!

I am in S Scale for 27 years now. I like showing/sharing what I have done, and in a very minority scale. Broadway Limited has made modelers BUYERS. For me there is nothing like designing something, printing it and getting it on my models.

Hope this answers some questions.
Bill

I remember seeing pictures of Frank's work over the years, including an article in Great Model Railroads. Didn't he market some products under the Lehigh Valley Models name? I remember seeing a review of an I-10sa kit featuring an AF Atlantic body in RMC years ago. I had a friend and parishioner back in the '80s who was an S gauge hi railer. He kit bashed several AF steamers, including a very credible RDG G-3 and a D&H challenger.

Again, very nice work; thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing more!
