Hi Hugh,
SSL&S is where I learned the name – can some tell us if it is correct? And I do have some on order, however Fred is so back logged that it will be a long time before I receive them. Also, I run S Hi-rail and will have to convert his trucks anyway, so I’m thinking maybe I could do something if I had more info. This is for a different project than so I could use another pair.

Tom,
I'm really sorry, I goofed up and the picture of the Mikado probably has some sort of Taylor flexible truck (now I feel I have to really research this one!), and mixed them up with the PRR Keisel truck. The Dolphin is a Pennsy truck, I posted a builders photo of a K4 with them. I also posted a picture of the Bowser version which are identical to the Bachmann's Casey used in the awesome I-7 build. Now, the best part is those trucks in question, a Reading favorite was a Baldwin product and the third picture is a scan from the 1927 locomotive cyclopedia with some dimensions to possibly rework into S scale. If the scan is too small PM me and I will send the scan over to you. I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

That does look like it, thank you Bill. Now I am wondering why SSL&S refers to them as ‘Dolphin’? The dimensions are a bit small even when I zoom in on the scan. But it does give me the correct truck to search for.

Thanks again,

Tom

Tom,
Located an old J. Harold Geissel drawing for an I-10 drawn to S scale.
The wheels are 36", and the WB is 5'9".
These tender trucks where on many of the locomotives built in the 1900 to 1930 time frame.

Hope this helps.

Hugh,

The 5’-9” wheelbase is the same as the one I’m seeing on the P-7, that’s a good start. However, the second post were you say you scanned the tender section has not shown up in the forum.

Could I ask you to send the scan to my personal email address?

Thanks,

Tom
