This board is the place where questions and information specific to MODELING the Reading Company, its equipment and operations can be shared - questions like "What was the window arrangement of AF Tower in Alburtis?" and "What color paint do YOU use to paint the Reading's cream-and-brown buildings?" We also want to hear about YOUR Reading modeling projects!

TOPIC: Heavyweight car numbers

Heavyweight car numbers 2 years 11 months ago #6588

Hello,
American Models is going to produce a set of S scale, Reading Company heavyweights. They need some help with car numbers. I have gleaned what I could from John Hall’s list of passenger equipment, however I am still missing a couple of classes. Here is what I have so far:

Baggage- BAp – 2 cars - numbers 1696 – 1697

Combines – CVg – 10 cars - # 520 - 529 and 15 cars - # 535 – 549

Dining cars – DCe – 4 cars - # 1186-1189

Observation – PVc --

Coaches – PBh- 75 cars - # 1400-1474; 10 cars - # 1485-1494; 20 cars - # 1505-1524

RPO/Mail cars --

I’m under the impression the Reading didn’t have any clerestory RPOs, but perhaps car numbers from the time period would do.
Any help would be welcome,
Tom Stoltz

Check the passenger car tables under "articles" on this sure

They were all arch roof numbered in the 1700's
